You Can Help

Our nation's economy is comprised of 97% of small business, and 50% of the workforce work in small businesses. Becoming a SCORE volunteer will allow you to help grow this vital part of our nation's future.

There are various ways you can help SCORE, including:

• Administrative

• Counseling

• Faculty

• Marketing

• Technology

As a volunteer, you will meet with a broad diversity of people who are either already in business and seek advice on ways to "grow to that next level", or who want to start a small business. You can help them achieve lifetime dreams and become independent business people.

Your background and experience can interface with over 100 other volunteers to provide a comprehensive mentoring experience for our clients. Counselors and other volunteers find the work extremely rewarding.

Training - Counselors

With a commitment of as little as half day per week, you will be fully trained in all aspects of counseling. After a short orientation session, your training will consist of:

• Being mentored one-on-one by an experienced counselor.

• Co-counseling with your mentor.

• Conducting self-study at your own pace.

Only when you and your mentor feel you are sufficiently grounded in the fundamentals and are ready, will you begin solo counseling.
